Sidekicks

Barry Gabrewski, a teenager with asthma who often faces bullying at school, copes by imagining himself as the sidekick to his martial arts idol, Chuck Norris, in exciting adventures inspired by Norris's films. Living in a small town, Barry's daydreams provide an escape from his difficult reality. With guidance from Mr. Lee, the wise uncle of his teacher, Barry begins to learn real martial arts techniques. Encouraged by this mentorship, he trains seriously and eventually competes in a local karate championship, gaining confidence and facing his challenges head-on.
