Oskar Schindler is a German businessman who arrives in Krakow in 1939, looking to profit from World War II. He staffs his factory with Jewish workers for their cheap labor, with his accountant Itzhak Stern helping him navigate the complex politics of Nazi-occupied Poland.
As the persecution of Jews intensifies, Schindler witnesses the liquidation of the Krakow ghetto and the brutal regime of concentration camp commandant Amon Goeth. Something changes in Schindler, and he begins using his factory as a refuge for Jews.
