Goodfellas

Henry Hill grows up in 1950s Brooklyn dreaming of becoming a gangster. "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster." He starts as a young boy running errands for the local mob and gradually rises through the ranks of the Lucchese crime family.

Alongside his partners Jimmy Conway and the volatile Tommy DeVito, Henry builds a life of wealth, power, and excess. He marries Karen, who gradually becomes accustomed to the mob lifestyle despite her initial reservations.

The film chronicles three decades of Henry's life in the mob, from the glamorous early days to the paranoid final years when drug addiction and FBI pressure close in. Goodfellas offers an unflinching look at the allure and ultimate price of the gangster life, told with Scorsese's masterful visual style and featuring iconic performances.
