When their father has to leave for work, two brothers, Walter and Danny, are left at home under the supervision of their teenage sister, Lisa, and are instructed to stay indoors. Expecting a dull day, the boys start playing a space-themed board game called Zathura, only to discover that the game has magical effects that launch their entire house into outer space. As they face the challenges of being stranded in space, they receive assistance from an astronaut and work together to find a way back to Earth.
Detailed Synopsis of Zathura: A Space Adventure
After their father is called into work, two young boys, Walter and Danny, are left in the care of their teenage sister, Lisa, and told they must stay inside. Walter and Danny, who anticipate a boring day, are shocked when they begin playing Zathura, a space-themed board game, which they realize has mystical powers when their house is shot into space. With the help of an astronaut, the boys attempt to return home.
