Woman in the Dunes

During a trip to a remote seaside village, an entomologist studying insects is unexpectedly captured by the local villagers. They force him to live in a sand pit alongside a woman whose daily responsibility is to shovel sand to prevent the village from being overwhelmed by it. As he adjusts to this harsh new life, he experiences severe physical hardship and psychological stress while trying to understand the villagers' way of life and his own situation.
