During the final stages of the Korean War, a group of U.S. soldiers is taken prisoner by communist forces and subjected to brainwashing. After the war ends, the soldiers are sent back to the United States, where Sergeant Raymond Shaw is celebrated as a war hero by his fellow platoon members. Near the end of the Korean War, a platoon of U.S. soldiers is captured by communists and brainwashed.
