The Egyptian

Set in eighteenth-dynasty Egypt, the story follows Sinuhe, an orphaned boy from a poor background who rises to become a skilled physician. Alongside his friend Horemheb, he gains a position serving the newly crowned Pharaoh. Throughout his journey, Sinuhe experiences both successes and hardships, all while the kingdom undergoes significant political and social changes. As he becomes involved in the complex intrigues of the royal court, Sinuhe uncovers important truths about his own origins and the questions that have troubled him since childhood.
