The Danish Girl

In 1920s Copenhagen, Gerda Wegener, a successful painter, asks her husband Einar to pose as a female model for her artwork. During this experience, Einar realizes that he identifies as a woman named Lili Elbe. With Gerda's understanding and support, Lili begins living openly as her true self and becomes one of the first people to undergo gender confirmation surgery, navigating the challenges of being a transgender pioneer in a time when such issues were largely unrecognized.
