Kumiko Oumae, a euphonium player, enters high school determined to leave music behind after a disappointing experience at her middle school's regional brass band competition. However, upon joining Kitauji High School, she finds herself surrounded by classmates who are passionate about the brass band. Encouraged by both old friends and new bandmates, Kumiko begins to regain her enthusiasm for playing music. Despite their goal to reach the national band competition, the Kitauji High School Concert Band struggles with internal disorder and poor performance, making even the local festival a difficult challenge. The situation prompts their new band advisor, Noboru Taki, to step in and try to bring order and improvement to the group.

After swearing off music due to an incident at the middle school regional brass band competition, euphonist Kumiko Oumae enters high school, hoping for a fresh start. As fate would have it, she ends up surrounded by people with an interest in the brass band. Kumiko finds the motivation she needs to make music once more with the help of her bandmates, some old friends, some new. However, in the band itself, chaos reigns supreme. Despite their intention to qualify for the national band competition, as they currently are, just competing in the local festival will be a challenge—unless new band advisor Noboru Taki does something about it.
