In an anatomy class, a group of students discover that war has begun, leading several of them to enlist and undergo basic training at Camp Poodle. Initially disturbed by the ongoing shelling, they quickly adapt and become experienced soldiers within a week. Barker volunteers, somewhat reluctantly, to parachute behind enemy lines disguised as a nurse to gather intelligence on enemy troop movements. However, he is captured and sentenced to death. In response, his fellow soldiers in the Airdale Army organize a mission to rescue him, facing the challenge of whether they can succeed in saving their comrade.
