Beth and Calvin Jarrett are struggling to cope with the death of their older son while trying to support their surviving son, Conrad, who is deeply affected by grief and guilt, leading to a suicide attempt. Conrad is undergoing therapy to deal with his emotional pain. Beth, who had always favored their deceased son, finds it hard to connect with and support Conrad, while Calvin feels caught in the middle, attempting to keep the family united during this difficult time.
