On the opening night of his first play, young writer Richard Collier encounters an elderly woman who urgently asks him to "Come back to me." Intrigued and puzzled, Richard investigates her background and discovers that she was a renowned stage actress from the early 1900s. As he becomes increasingly fascinated by her story, he uses self-hypnosis to transport himself back in time, where he finally meets her in person.
Detailed Synopsis of Somewhere in Time
Young writer Richard Collier is met on the opening night of his first play by an old lady who begs him to "Come back to me". Mystified, he tries to find out about her, and learns that she is a famous stage actress from the early twentieth century. Becoming more and more obsessed with her, by self-hypnosis he manages to travel back in time—where he meets her.
