During the Normandy invasion in World War II, a photograph was discovered showing a slim Korean man wearing a German uniform. It was later revealed that this man had an unusual military career, having served as a soldier in the Japanese, Russian, and German armies at different times. This remarkable true story became the basis for director Kang Je-Gyu's epic war drama, which explores the man's complex experiences across these different armies during the war.
