Takumi Fujiwara, a high school student living in the mountains of Japan, has been delivering tofu for his father's shop every morning using a Toyota AE86. Although he initially sees it as just a chore, Takumi has developed exceptional driving skills, especially in drifting around mountain curves. After winning his first street racing competition, he decides to focus more seriously on drift racing, a sport where his natural talent and experience give him an unexpected advantage.
