Quick Synopsis
In California, Behrani, an Iranian immigrant, purchases a small bungalow with the plan to renovate it and sell it for enough profit to fund his son's college education. However, the house legally belongs to Kathy, a former drug addict who lost it due to a disputed legal battle with the county. After losing her home, Kathy has no place to live and is determined to reclaim the property. She hires a lawyer and forms a connection with a local police officer to support her cause. Since neither Kathy nor Behrani has committed any crimes, their conflict over the house leads to a complex moral struggle rather than a straightforward legal confrontation.
