On a night in 1959, four individuals die in a bus accident, but their souls remain on Earth, linked to a newborn named Thomas who was born at the exact time of their deaths. These spirits act as his unseen guardians throughout his childhood. As Thomas grows into a businessman, he recalls interactions with these ghostly companions but believes they are just figments of his imagination. Eventually, the spirits realize they need Thomas's assistance to resolve their unfinished business and move on to the afterlife, prompting them to reveal themselves to him once again.

Detailed Synopsis of Heart and Souls

A fateful night in 1959, four people die when the bus they are riding crashes. They continue as ghosts; their souls become eternally entwined to the life of a child born at the moment of their deaths as his guardians. Baby Thomas grows up to be a businessman who has memories of his playmates, but assumes they are products of his youthful imagination. When the ghosts realize they need Thomas' help to move on to the afterlife, they decide to make an appearance once more.
