Full Plot Summary of Fight Club
A nameless first person narrator attends support groups in an attempt to subdue his emotional state and relieve his insomniac state. When he meets Marla, another faker, his life becomes unbearable.
On a business trip, he meets Tyler Durden, a charismatic soap salesman with a philosophy of self-destruction. They form an underground fight club as a form of primal therapy, which quickly evolves into something much bigger.
As fight clubs spread across the country, Tyler's plans become increasingly anarchic, culminating in Project Mayhem—a plan to bring down modern civilization. The narrator must confront disturbing truths about himself and Tyler as the line between liberation and destruction blurs. Fight Club explores themes of masculinity, consumerism, identity, and the search for meaning in modern society.
