Dancer in the Dark

Selma, a Czech immigrant living in a foreign country, is slowly losing her sight due to a genetic disorder. She works hard to support herself and her young son, who has inherited the same condition and will also go blind unless he can afford a costly surgery. Facing financial hardship and the challenges of her worsening vision, Selma finds comfort in her passion for musicals, often imagining small dance sequences inspired by the sounds and rhythms around her as a way to escape her difficult reality.
