The Green Mile

Set in a Southern prison's death row during the 1930s, the story follows Paul Edgecomb, the head guard of the cell block known as the Green Mile. He encounters John Coffey, a large and gentle inmate who has an unusual ability to heal others' illnesses and injuries. As Paul witnesses Coffey's miraculous powers, he becomes determined to find a way to prevent Coffey's scheduled execution, questioning the justice of the situation and the true nature of his prisoner.
