Crimson Tide

Following the Cold War, a separatist Russian republic gains control of nuclear weapons, posing a global threat. Captain Frank Ramsey commands the U.S. submarine USS Alabama, which is deployed to prevent a nuclear crisis. He brings aboard Lieutenant Commander Ron Hunter, an inexperienced but well-regarded officer, to assist in the mission. As Ramsey pushes for aggressive action to neutralize the threat, Hunter becomes concerned that such measures could trigger a catastrophic conflict. This disagreement leads Hunter to challenge Ramsey's orders, resulting in a tense standoff aboard the submarine as they struggle to avoid starting a nuclear war.
