Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

In the small town of Ebbing, Missouri, Mildred Hayes becomes frustrated after seven months without any progress in the investigation of her daughter's murder. To draw attention to the case and pressure the police, she rents and paints three billboards on the outskirts of town with messages criticizing Chief Bill Willoughby, who is well-respected in the community. This act creates tension, especially with Officer Jason Dixon, the chief's aggressive and impulsive second-in-command, who reacts strongly to Mildred's accusations. As a result, the conflict between Mildred and the local police department intensifies, affecting the entire town.
