Alice, a young girl who is deaf, lives in a small town in New England. After she claims to have been visited by the Virgin Mary, she suddenly gains the ability to hear, speak, and heal people. As news of her abilities spreads, many come to the town hoping to see her perform miracles. A journalist who has fallen out of favor and wants to rebuild his reputation arrives to investigate Alice's story. However, as strange and frightening events begin to occur in the area, the journalist starts to wonder whether these happenings are truly connected to the Virgin Mary or if something more dangerous is involved.
Detailed Synopsis of The Unholy
Alice is a young hearing-impaired girl who, after a supposed visitation from the Virgin Mary, is inexplicably able to hear, speak and heal the sick. As word spreads and people from near and far flock to witness her miracles, a disgraced journalist hoping to revive his career visits the small New England town to investigate. When terrifying events begin to happen all around, he starts to question if these phenomena are the works of the Virgin Mary or something much more sinister.
