The Stanford Prison Experiment

In 1971, Professor Philip Zimbardo of Stanford University organized a psychological study where college students were assigned roles as prisoners and guards in a simulated prison environment. The experiment, intended to last two weeks, quickly escalated as the participants began to take their roles seriously, leading to unexpected and disturbing behavior that forced the study to end prematurely. This film is based on the real events of that experiment.
