In the underwater city of Bikini Bottom, King Neptune's crown is stolen, and Mr. Krabs, the owner of the Krusty Krab and SpongeBob's employer, is accused of the theft. Despite being disappointed after missing out on a promotion, SpongeBob believes in Mr. Krabs' innocence. Together with his close friend Patrick, SpongeBob embarks on a dangerous journey to a place called Shell City to retrieve the crown and prove Mr. Krabs' innocence, ultimately aiming to save his boss's life.

There's trouble brewing in Bikini Bottom. Someone has stolen King Neptune's crown, and it looks like Mr. Krab, SpongeBob's boss, is the culprit. Though he's just been passed over for the promotion of his dreams, SpongeBob stands by his boss, and along with his best pal Patrick, sets out on a treacherous mission to Shell City to reclaim the crown and save Mr. Krab's life.
