Quick Synopsis
Two identical twin sisters, who were separated after their parents divorced and each raised by one parent, meet for the first time at a summer camp. Realizing they are twins, they decide to switch places to experience each other's lives and to try to reunite their parents. One sister has been living with their mother, while the other has been living with their father. After switching, they work together to bring their parents back together, starting by trying to discourage a woman who is interested in their father for his money.
Detailed Synopsis of The Parent Trap
Two identical twin sisters, separated at birth by their parents' divorce, are reunited years later at a summer camp, where they scheme to bring their parents back together. The girls, one of whom has been living with their mother and the other with their father, switch places after camp and go to work on their plan, the first objective being to scare off a gold-digger pursuing their father.
