Quick Synopsis

In the African Pride Lands, a young lion named Simba looks up to his father, King Mufasa, and learns about his future role as king. However, his uncle Scar, who lost his chance to be king, resents Simba and plots against him. Scar's schemes lead to betrayal and tragedy that force Simba to leave the kingdom. While in exile, Simba meets two new friends who help him grow and understand his responsibilities. Eventually, Simba must return to Pride Rock to confront Scar and reclaim his rightful place as king.

Detailed Synopsis of The Lion King

Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Scar, Mufasa's brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.
