Quick Synopsis
After having an argument with her boyfriend, Sarah Tobias goes out drinking and is violently raped by three men in a bar, with bystanders watching and cheering. District Attorney Kathryn Murphy prosecutes the case but agrees to a lenient sentence for the attackers. Feeling devastated and dissatisfied with the outcome, Sarah chooses to pursue legal action against the men who witnessed and encouraged the assault. To achieve justice, she must testify in court and recount the events of that night.
Detailed Synopsis of The Accused
Out drinking one night after a fight with her boyfriend, three men brutally rape Sarah Tobias in a bar while people watch and cheer. District Attorney Kathryn Murphy takes the case; however, she allows the rapists to receive a mild sentence. A distraught Sarah decides to seek punishment for the men who witnessed and encouraged the rape. To get justice, Sarah must take the stand and revisit the night of her attack.
