During the Ming dynasty, Chu, a partisan fleeing from Manchu forces, seeks refuge in a local pawnshop owned by Li Chen-chau, a merchant and kung fu enthusiast. Li secretly gathers a group of martial arts masters to protect Chu. However, when Li's rival betrays him, Manchu official Liang mobilizes his army and deceives some kung fu masters, including Beggar Su, into supporting the Manchu side. After a fierce battle, Li persuades Beggar Su to join their resistance, leading to the formation of the Ten Tigers of Kwangtung.
Detailed Synopsis of Ten Tigers of Kwangtung
Ming partisan Chu who is on the run from Manchu forces. Local merchant and kung fu enthusiast Li Chen-chau gives the fugitive shelter in his pawnshop and quietly recruits some of his fellow martial master associates to help protect the lad. When Li's professional rival rats him out, Manchu official Liang not only orchestras his army but fools a couple other kung fu masters including Beggar Su into helping his cause. After a heated battle, Li manages to convince Su to joining his cause, thus forming the Ten Tigers.
