In modern-day Japan, a young boy named Koichi discovers a small Kappa, a mythical water creature, who has somehow survived for over 200 years. Koichi's family decides to secretly adopt the Kappa, whom they name Coo. Together, Koichi and Coo explore quiet, unpopulated areas in the hope of finding other Kappas like him.
