Pushing Hands

Mr. Chu, an elderly widower and tai chi chuan instructor from Beijing, relocates to the United States to live with his son Alex and his family. Adjusting to life in America proves challenging for Mr. Chu, especially as his daughter-in-law is a white woman who does not speak Chinese. This language and cultural gap creates tension within the household, requiring Alex to act as a mediator between his father and wife to help them understand each other and navigate their differences.
