Ashitaka, the last prince of the Emishi tribe, is cursed after defending his village from a boar god that has been corrupted by a dark force. To find a cure for his curse, he travels west and arrives at a forest where humans and nature are in conflict. There, he meets San, a young woman raised by wolves who fiercely defends the forest, and Lady Eboshi, the leader of a nearby settlement who is expanding her town by clearing the forest. Ashitaka, a prince of the disappearing Emishi people, is cursed by a demonized boar god and must journey to the west to find a cure.
