Quick Synopsis
In this story set in a traditional town, a well-known courtesan played by Xue Zhilun becomes a devoted admirer of a local actor portrayed by Tony Leung Ka-fai. She visits him daily, bringing soup and offering her support as he pursues his career. One evening, the actor finally takes notice of her, and they begin a passionate relationship. However, as time passes, the actor's feelings fade and he grows indifferent toward her. Feeling rejected and desperate, the courtesan tragically takes her own life by hanging. Detailed Synopsis of Nan shao yi
The famous courtesan (played by Xue Zhilun) admires the actor (played by Tony Leung Ka-fai) and visits him every day to support him and bring him soup. One night, the actor noticed her, and they fell deeply in love. However, the actor was heartless, and over time, he grew tired of her. In a fit of rage, the courtesan hanged herself. The actor regretted his actions, but it was too late. He could only row his boat along the river, burning everything that reminded him of her, hoping to make amends.
