After spending thirty years in exile in Brazil, former Hong Kong gangster Roy returns to his hometown with the goal of resolving unresolved issues before his death. Struggling with Alzheimer's disease, he enlists the help of a young criminal named Smokey to guide him through the city and assist him in finding the man responsible for shooting him and taking away the woman he loved. As they navigate the dangerous Hong Kong underworld, Roy and Smokey develop a strong connection, sharing their thoughts on lost love and missed chances.
