Magellan

In the early 16th century, Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan sets out on a voyage commissioned by the Spanish monarchy to find a westward sea route to the Spice Islands. Leading a fleet across the largely unknown Pacific Ocean, Magellan and his crew endure severe hardships including food shortages, internal rebellions, and the mental strain of prolonged isolation at sea. When they arrive on the island of Cebu in the Philippines, Magellan becomes involved in local disputes as he attempts to convert the native population to Catholicism, which ultimately leads to his death in a violent confrontation.
