Quick Synopsis
Jacob Singer, a veteran recently returned from the Vietnam War, finds it difficult to adjust to civilian life as he experiences intense hallucinations and flashbacks. Living in his hometown, he begins to lose touch with reality as the people and surroundings around him change into unsettling and distorted forms. His girlfriend Jezzie and his ex-wife Sarah both attempt to support him during this difficult time, but their efforts do not prevent his mental decline. Even Louis, a chiropractor and close friend, is unable to help Jacob as he continues to struggle with his deteriorating mental state.
Detailed Synopsis of Jacob's Ladder
After returning home from the Vietnam War, veteran Jacob Singer struggles to maintain his sanity. Plagued by hallucinations and flashbacks, Singer rapidly falls apart as the world and people around him morph and twist into disturbing images. His girlfriend, Jezzie, and ex-wife, Sarah, try to help, but to little avail. Even Singer's chiropractor friend, Louis, fails to reach him as he descends into madness.
