Best friends Sonny and Sam run an after-school junk business, hoping to find valuable items in other people's discarded belongings. While cleaning out the old house of R.L. Stine, the famous author of the Goosebumps series, they discover a locked book that accidentally releases Slappy, a sinister ventriloquist dummy with supernatural powers. As Slappy brings to life various monsters from the book, Sonny, Sam, and Sonny's sister Sarah must work together to stop the chaos and find a way to trap Slappy and the creatures back into the book before the situation gets out of control.

Be careful what you wish for. With their after school junk business, best friends Sonny and Sam hope to find treasure in other people’s trash. But when cleaning out the old Stine house, they open a locked book that frees a supernatural nightmare – Slappy! Now, with the help of Sonny’s sister Sarah, they’re in a race against time to get the sinister dummy and all the creatures he’s brought to life back into the pages before he unleashes total pandemonium!
