Quick Synopsis
In a futuristic city, cyborg detective Batou is tasked with investigating a string of murders involving gynoids, which are doll-like cyborgs designed to serve humans. Each gynoid involved in the crimes malfunctioned, killed their victims, and then self-destructed to erase evidence. These gynoids are programmed to wipe their memories to protect their manufacturers' software, but during one case, Batou disables a gynoid that unexpectedly retains a single file: a recorded voice pleading, "Help me." This discovery leads Batou to question the nature of the gynoids and the circumstances behind the murders.
Detailed Synopsis of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence
Cyborg detective Batou is assigned to investigate a series of murders committed by gynoids—doll-like cyborgs, which all malfunctioned, killed, then self-destructed afterwards. The brains of the gynoids initialize in order to protect their manufacturer's software, but in one gynoid, which Batou himself neutralized, one file remains: a voice speaking the phrase "Help me."
