Quick Synopsis
Owen Thursday, a military officer, is assigned to the remote Fort Apache and views this posting as an opportunity to earn the military honor he feels he deserves. His pride and strict adherence to military rules lead him to make reckless decisions, including trying to defeat the Apache chief Cochise by drawing him across the border from Mexico. Detailed Synopsis of Fort Apache
Owen Thursday sees his new posting to the desolate Fort Apache as a chance to claim the military honour which he believes is rightfully his. Arrogant, obsessed with military form and ultimately self-destructive, he attempts to destroy the Apache chief Cochise after luring him across the border from Mexico, against the advice of his subordinates.
