Waverly, a young woman preparing to begin her medical residency in Toronto, plans to spend the summer visiting her parents in Taipei. However, when her plans unexpectedly change, she decides on a spontaneous trip to a small town in Canada. There, she meets Blake, a local lifeguard who rescues her from nearly drowning at a beach party. Grateful and intrigued, Waverly accepts Blake's offer to teach her how to swim. As they spend time together during the swimming lessons, their relationship deepens, and they gradually develop romantic feelings for each other.
