Edge of Tomorrow

Major Bill Cage is a military officer with no combat experience who is suddenly demoted and sent to the front lines of a war against alien invaders. Shortly after arriving on the battlefield, he is killed while managing to kill an alpha alien. However, Cage then wakes up to find himself back at the start of the same day, forced to relive the battle repeatedly. Each time he dies and restarts the day, he gains more knowledge and skill, as the alien contact has trapped him in a time loop that he must use to find a way to defeat the enemy.
