In a small town in Minnesota, the local annual beauty pageant draws attention from a television crew covering the event. Gladys Leeman, a former pageant winner and the wealthiest family matriarch in town, is determined to see her daughter win this year. Throughout the competition, a series of accidents occur, including explosions, falling stage lights, and trailer fires, but the police remain relatively unconcerned due to the Leemans' influence. Meanwhile, Amber Atkins, the main competitor and known for her kind nature, is determined to challenge the Leemans and refuses to back down despite the obstacles.

In a small Minnesota town, the annual beauty pageant is being covered by a TV crew. Former winner Gladys Leeman wants to make sure her daughter follows in her footsteps; explosions, falling lights, and trailer fires prove that. As the Leemans are the richest family in town, the police are pretty relaxed about it all. Despite everything, main rival (but sweet) Amber Atkins won't give up without a fight.
