In New York City, a misanthropic author who struggles with obsessive-compulsive disorder crosses paths with a single mother working as a waitress and a gay artist recovering from injuries sustained during a robbery. Despite their very different backgrounds and personalities, the three develop an unexpected friendship as they support each other through their personal challenges and learn to understand one another better.
