When NASA discovers that a massive asteroid is on a collision course with Earth, NASA director Dan Truman decides that the best way to prevent disaster is to send a team to drill into the asteroid's surface and detonate a nuclear bomb inside it. To lead this critical mission, he recruits Harry Stamper, a highly skilled oil driller known for his expertise. Harry agrees to take on the mission on the condition that he can bring his own experienced crew. Among the team is A.J., a confident young driller who Harry initially doubts is suitable for his daughter, but as the mission progresses, A.J. proves his worth under the extreme circumstances.
Detailed Synopsis of Armageddon
When an asteroid threatens to collide with Earth, NASA honcho Dan Truman determines the only way to stop it is to drill into its surface and detonate a nuclear bomb. This leads him to renowned driller Harry Stamper, who agrees to helm the dangerous space mission provided he can bring along his own hotshot crew. Among them is the cocksure A.J. who Harry thinks isn't good enough for his daughter, until the mission proves otherwise.
